Meulens is a minor-league hitting coach with the Giants system. He has been credited with turning around Eugenio Velez and John Bowker. Meulens has never had a coaching position at the major league level. He will be replaced Carney Lansford, who was with the Giants through the 2008 and 2009 seasons.
